Injection molding is a manufacturing process well suited for producing a high volume of identical plastic parts at a relatively low cost. It’s possible to achieve a wide range of mechanical properties thorough the selection of the appropriate resin. These factors combined make it a great choice for many consumer products. Injection molding offers many advantages as long as the part is designed for the process following basic guidelines. There are, however, considerable fixed costs to getting started, so knowing the ropes is important. In this video, I give a crash course on the ins and outs of injection molding to help demystify this popular option for building at scale.
